The Bike Barn is a locally owned, independently operated, one-of-a-kind shop.  We’re passionate about our community and we’re passionate about bicycles.  We had humble beginnings in a basement apartment right here in Blacksburg.

Over the years, the Bike Barn has developed a reputation for listening to what our customers want, and delivering on their requests.  We believe cycling is one of those things that many more people would love if they tried, no matter what kind of riding you may like.

We are here to support you on your journey with your bicycle as your vehicle.  Road, mountain, or city riding, we do all of the above.  Our focus is on value, meaning good quality, without the premium price.  We take the time to handpick all the products we carry, and we stand 110% behind our services and everything we sell.

Our beginnings were humble.  Owner Yusef Messallam–a former tech student–started the Bike Barn as a way to make some money on the side while attending classes.  He would advertise his services by word of mouth, and worked out of his living room.  As customers began referring their friends over, he soon developed a following of people who were looking for the kind of attention to detail, and personable customer service afforded to them.

2 years later, the Bike Barn was offered an opportunity to move into a local grocery store with the idea of opening a retail store with regular hours.  A year later, the space was outgrown and the Bike Barn moved to it’s current, larger location at price’s fork and main street.

Today, we constantly look for ways to provide better service to our customers and to make the sport of cycling more enjoyable by offering quality, value-focused products.
